Thanksgiving is once again just around the corner. Can you believe it? This is a wonderful time of the year, but as you all know, it tends to be that period in the year when it sometimes feels like life’s task list grows and maybe sometimes, we come to realize that our focus has strayed away from what it most important. Well, our focus is on our beloved residents within our assisted living community and within our memory care community here at Manor Lake. Today’s blog is an attempt to offer ideas during these busy times to retain focus on what’s most important to all of us, our family.
The Thanksgiving holiday conjures an assortment of emotions within all of us. For some, this is a time to reflect on loved ones, the living and passed. And, yet, regardless of where Thanksgiving finds each of us this year, it brings an opportunity to pause and give thanks for the simple things we often take for granted. Things like the love of family, food on the table, and even for life itself.
Take due time in advance of the Thanksgiving holiday to reflect upon the things that enrich your soul. Make a list because you might find that your list of things is long. Some things will be obvious. Others, maybe not so much. Strongly consider committing yourself to sharing these thoughts with your loved ones. This is a wonderful time of year to express gratitude to those people in your life who make it so special.
If you are reading this list today as a resident here at Manor Lake Gainesville Assisted Living & Memory Care in Gainesville, GA, a family member of the same, or simply a member of the public seeking ideas regarding how to make Thanksgiving for your senior or memory care loved ones, know that you already exist within our list of people to be thankful for.
